  • Wrote multiple stories per day for CNBC.com and its subscription product CNBC Pro. Produced recurring features like fund manager profiles and stock screen stories while also covering breaking news and writing trend pieces. Helped expand the CNBC Pro product in 2020, writing daily stories on Wall Street research and moves by top investors.

Newsroom fellow, June-December 2019

  • Spent three months on the digital and broadcast sides of CNBC.com. Wrote breaking news stories, market stories and longer, deeply reported pieces for the website. Assisted with production for Closing Bell on the broadcast side, including researching and producing segments.

Intern – business reporter

  • Built a beat covering health care and biotech in San Antonio, writing about pharmaceutical startup companies, federal health policy and economic indicators. Two of my stories earned placement on the front page, including one in-depth story about how changes to federal health care laws impacted rural Texas hospitals.

Intern — business reporter

  • Wrote about a wide array of business topics, including energy issues. Generated and pitched my own stories, including a data-heavy story on the impact an airline pulling out of Oklahoma City had on airfare and an enterprise story on a state-run space port that landed on the front page of the paper.

Editor-in-Chief, fall 2017

  • Managed a team of about 75 student journalists and a payroll of roughly $3500/week, producing two print papers a week and a 24/7 website. I worked with the advertising department to develop special issues and new digital advertisements.

Enterprise Editor, spring 2017

  • Created a new division within The Daily, continuing our push into video and leading the launch of a new website for multimedia storytelling. The multimedia pieces regularly drew time-on-site averages of more than 4 minutes in the days following publication, an increase of more than 300 percent compared to the normal website.

Assistant Sports Editor/Football Beat Reporter, fall 2016

  • Covered the OU football team on a daily basis while managing the sports section’s social media accounts. This was a highly competitive job that drove large amounts of traffic to The Daily’s website, with the team of football reporters regularly posting more than 15 stories on game days.

  • Covered a wide variety of campus news as a reporter and editor, including the university’s financial struggles and the SAE fraternity scandal.
